Soldiers from the 517th battalion are defending the eastern borders of Ukraine

In times of war, trenches play an essential role in defense. The fighters of the 517th battalion maintain their defense precisely in them; the trench as a defensive structure serves primarily as a firing position for mechanized units (infantry), as well as a shelter for personnel and equipment, which protects them from conventional means of destruction and to some extent from striking factors of a nuclear explosion.
